Ill Manors trailer analysis

What are the typical codes and conventions of film trailers - what information is usually provided?
Film trailers include these following conventions;
  •  Text on screen
  • Fast passed editing
  •  Short clips from film
  •  Music/audio
  •  Release date
  •  Title
  •  Action/dramatic/scenes/pieces
  •  Cast/director
  •  Enigma code
  •  Social media
  •  Tag Line
  •  Institutional intro/logo
  •  Film review quotes
The web helps the distributers to start to build awareness of their new film at an early stage. Even before the main posters have been designed, they may be posting updates online; this may contain new snippets or teaser images, that will begin to gain the audience’s notice.During the shooting, the creators may gradually increase the flow of information, this will try to make the audience feel apart of the film making progress.

The Ill Manor trailer uses film trailer conventions by including things such as fast paced editing and short clips from the film, both of these combined  was the most noticeable element, this allowed a good way for the audience to have a clear understanding of what was going on within the film and also excited them by leaving them wanting more.
The music/audio played an important role within the trailer because it represented a huge amount of deeper understanding of the film, it represented the characters and also the the storyline.
The text on the screen in between the edits allows the audience to think about what the film could be about.
The film review quotes plays another important role for the trailer because Ill Manors is not a film which includes high rated actors who have a huge fan base, so having audience watch the film is highly important for the director. The use of film review quotes allows the audience to base trust on whether it is worth checking out.
